Niederrhein Willich Crematorium ready in the summer
Niederrhein Willich Crematorium is due to be commissioned in the summer. This is the second Facultatieve Group crematorium in Germany, the first being Memmingen Crematorium in Bavaria. Since last year, construction has been underway at a feverish pace on the historical Willich country estate, just over the Dutch/German border, adjacent to the Province of Limburg. There is now also a website: www.krematoriumniederrheinwillich.de.
Henry Keizer, President of ‘the Facultatieve Group’: “Using the personal wishes of the deceased and their next of kin as the starting point, the Niederrhein Willich Crematorium will be offering considerably more options than is currently the case in Germany. It is set to become a crematorium reflecting the Dutch model, but naturally with the utmost respect for all the relevant national laws and local traditions. For example, there will be two halls and a wide range of gastronomic options. Furthermore, the monumental main building will house various rooms for displaying the deceased, with their next of kin receiving a digital ‘key’ which will allow them to pay their respects at a time suitable to themselves.”
