Its unique historical and cultural character, its charming location and the almost un-Dutch atmosphere of its grounds means Westerveld Cemetery & Crematorium – member of 'the Facultatieve Group' and the first crematorium in the Netherlands – is often used as a site for television and film recordings. The makers of the film ‘Alle Tijd’ (Plenty of Time) recently carried out some shoots at the site. This film is due to be released in cinemas in early October 2011.
The tragicomedy ‘Alle Tijd’ – starring well-known Dutch actors Paul de Leeuw and Karina Smulders – follows the lives of Maarten and his sister Molly as they both travel the bumpy and sometimes even rocky path of love. A way that is not always so easy. But fate intervenes and Molly gets ill. They are forced to make some stark decisions. After all, you won't always have plenty of time.
