Laurens van Rooyen at Concerto in Memoriam

The traditional ‘Concerto in Memoriam’ will take place on Sunday June 5th, at 14.00, in the park of Westerveld Cemetery & Crematorium (Duin en Kruidbergerweg in Driehuis, the Netherlands). A large part of the musical programme will be performed by the well-known composer/pianist Laurens van Rooyen. Last year the ‘Volendams Opera Koor’(Opera Choir of Volendam) performed at the Concerto. They received a very enthusiastic response, and the organization is very happy that the choir will sing a few pieces of music again at this year’s event. Westerveld has organized the Concerto in Memoriam since 1994. It is a very popular event and thousands of visitors come to this concert at Westerveld every year. Last year it was attended by more than 4500. As usual the Concerto in Memoriam –which is free to attend - intended for every one who wants to commemorate his or her loved ones.
