This year the traditional ‘Concerto in Memoriam’ which is held in the park of Westerveld Cemetery & Crematorium in Driehuis, the Netherlands, will take place on Sunday June 11th at 14.00. At first this open-air concert was planned a week later, but because some musicians were not available then, it has been forwarded a week. Through this open-air concert Westerveld wants to give people the opportunity to remember their loved ones. Therefore the concert – which is attended by thousands of visitors every year – is free to attend. You are very welcome!
Each year the organization tries to put together a broad programme. In addition to the music, The Last Post and the recital of a poem, a guest speaker is invited to speak words of solace. The past years we have invited – amongst others - the author Anna Enquist, Major A.M. Bosshardt (Salvation Army), Prof. Dr. B. Smalhout, Princess Irene van Lippe-Biesterfeld and theologian Jacobine Geel.
